ORCHESTRA DELL'EMILIA ROMAGNA ARTURO TOSCANINI
The Arturo Toscanini Foundation, musical institution of the Emilia-Romagna Region acting with the support of the Ministry of Culture, was established in 1994 by initiative of the Region, the Municipality and the Province of Parma ; it represents the natural evolution of the Association bearing the same name established in 1975 by the Municipalities and Provinces of Emilia-Romagna and recognized by the State in January 1977. Today one of the largest and most dynamic Italian musical institutions, active in the field of symphonic production, opera and professional training of young people in the arts and crafts of entertainment, the Foundation bears the name of Arturo Toscanini, honoring its artistic legacy and tradition of performing excellence; Parma, the birthplace of the great conductor, is the fulcrum of its activities.
Today, after constant productive and artistic growth, the Foundation may count on an operative dimension and an organizational structure that allows the realization of an activity constituted every year, on average, by over 110 symphonic concerts, 30 chamber and 40 opera performances. For the realization of its programs, the Foundation has two different artistic ensembles, active on an annual basis: the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, intended for the performance of the great symphonic repertoire with the presence of the greatest international soloists and conductors, and the Regional Orchestra of Emilia-Romagna, which acts both in regional and educational concert activity and in opera productions.
